Three Years...

Dear Patch,

I miss you old friend. Three years have passed since we last saw each other. I look for you each and every day, but can't see you. I only hear you. Although your footprints do not follow mine anymore, I carry you in my heart and your tags on my key chain. You made my life, childhood, complete and happy. Words can never capture the vastness of how I cherish your love and friendship. You grew old and I grew up! I am the teacher I always dreamed about becoming. Mrs. Dancer (well Lori now - since we are colleagues) is a close friend! Do you remember her? She was my 4th grade teacher. I live in a new place, but my bedroom is PURPLE just like I always told you I wanted. I still have my favorite car, Buttercup! The purple bush/tree you were planted under was removed by the new house owners - I'm SORRY. The Mack's keep an eye on your place of rest. The chickens from Gary's field pay their respect daily. Nelly watches from her pen. Dad never came back to talk to me again - I can't even tell you where he is. I am forgetting what he looks like, sounds like, or smells like. It is amazing how time keeps passing without you - I HATE IT! But I am determined to live the life we wished about. Your care bears blanket is safely on my bed! Rest Well dear friend.

I love you,
Janice
